Modalities Studied

Swedish- One of the most commonly taught and well-known massage techniques, Swedish massage is a system of treatment designed to energize the body by stimulating circulation. Used to manipulate the soft tissues of the body. The disrobed client is covered by a sheet, with only the area being worked on exposed. Therapists use a combination of kneading, rolling, stretching with the application of lotion, to reduce friction on the skin. The many benefits of Swedish massage may include generalized relaxation, dissolution of scar tissue adhesions, and improved circulation, which may speed healing and reduce swelling from injury

Deep Tissue Techniques that utilize deep-tissue/deep-muscle massage are administered to affect the sub-layer of musculature and fascia. These techniques require advanced training and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. The muscles must be relaxed in order to effectively perform deep-tissue massage, otherwise tight surface muscles prevent the practitioner from reaching deeper musculature. It helps with chronic muscular pain and injury rehabilitation and reduces inflammation-related pain caused by arthritis and tendinitis. It is generally integrated with other massage techniques.

Hot Stone specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones as an extension of their own hands, or by placing them on the body. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help warm up tight muscles so the therapist can work more deeply

Cupping done with special cups positioned on the skin for a few minutes to create suction. This modality can be helpful when dealing with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being, and as a type of deep-tissue massage.

Polarity based on universal principles of energy–attraction, repulsion, and neutrality. The interrelation of these principles forms the basis for every aspect of life, including our experience of health, wellness, and disease. With this understanding, polarity therapy addresses the interdependence of body, mind, and spirit, the importance of relationships, and the value of creating a way of life in harmony with nature. Founded by Austrian-born naturopath Dr. Randolph Stone in the mid-1950s, polarity therapy is a clothes-on, noninvasive system complementing existing modalities with an integrated, holistic model. Polarity is based on the belief that positive and negative poles exist in every cell. The body is gently manipulated to balance the positive and negative energies. In addition to physical manipulation, blockages and toxins are eliminated through a cleansing diet and simple exercises.

JIN SHIN ACUPRESSURE- “Jin Shin Do” means “The Way of the Compassionate Spirit.” Jin Shin Do® Bodymind Acupressure® to help release “armoring” or chronic tension and balance the “Qi” or energy. This clothes-on method helps relie stress- and trauma- related problems. A unique synthesis of a traditional Japanese acupressure technique, classic Chinese acupuncture and acupressure theory, Taoist philosophy, Qigong (breathing and exercise techniques), and Reichian segmental theory, it is recognized as a major form of Asian Bodywork Therapy (by NCCAOM & AOBTA among others). Originated by psychotherapist Iona Marsaa Teeguarden, JSD promotes a pleasant trancelike state, in which one can relax and move out of the head and into the body, accessing feelings and inner wisdom.

Chair Massage- 15 20 or 30 minute massage session on a specially designed chair that helps clients feel refreshed, relaxed and rejuvenated to return to work or their busy lives. Helps relieves stress and tight muscles in the neck and back of the body. It reduces the potential for repetitive motion injuries in the arms and hands. Chair massage is one of the fastest growing areas of bodywork nationwide, especially since it is more affordable for people and takes less time than a table massage. And with increased awareness of the need for stress management in the workplace, and the need to decrease repetitive motion injuries

Chair massageis also an excellent marketing tool to help grow your table massage business. It allows you to meet new potential customers and an opportunity to build rapport with clients. During this 8 hour class, emphasis is placed on marketing the modality, as well as proper body mechanics while performing chair massage routines. The students will learn a 10, 15, and 20 minute routines and a manual will be given to support the material learned in class

Infant Massage Instruction for Parents- Teach parents how to properly massage their infants. Infant massage is also utilized in hospital neonatal care units. This specialized form of touch is successful, not only in the critical weight gain of premature infants, but also in creating a strong bond between parent and infant and exposing a young child to the benefits and pleasures of touch

Reiki hands-on energy healing art- It was originated in Japan in the early 20th century by Mikao Usui, who had a life-changing experience of light and energy that he recognized as reiki–sacred life force–and that awakened his innate healing abilities. He developed a system of practices that enabled others to become effective healers. In a reiki healing session, the practitioner, trained to access and serve as a channel for the life force (ki or chi), places her hands on the clients body in order to activate healing energy within receptive points on the body. The practitioners hands move progressively with a passive touch through twelve positions on the body, remaining in each position for three to five minutes. As a harmonic flow of energy is strengthened, within the client and practitioner, healing occurs through the return of physical, mental, and spiritual balance

Oncology is the modification of existing massage therapy techniques in order to safely work with complications of cancer and cancer treatment

Pregnancy/Prenatal Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and swelling. Massage for pregnant women reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension — which aids in better sleep — and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.

Cranial Sacral Therapy- Gentle, noninvasive method of evaluating and enhancing the function of a physiological body arrangement called the craniosacral system. Developed by John E. Upledger, DO, OMM, this manual therapy enhances the bodys natural healing processes and has proven effective in treating a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction. The roots of this therapy are in cranial osteopathy, developed by Dr. William G. Sutherland. The craniosacral system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. It extends from the bones of the skull, face, and mouth–which make up the cranium–down to the sacrum or tailbone. Since this system influences the development and function of the brain and spinal cord, any imbalance or dysfunction in the craniosacral system could cause sensory, motor, or neurological disabilities. These problems may include chronic pain, eye difficulties, scoliosis, motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities, and other dysfunctions of the central nervous system. Craniosacral therapy encourages the bodys natural healing mechanisms to improve the functioning of the central nervous system, dissipate the negative effects of stress, and enhance health and resistance to disease. The craniosacral therapy practitioner uses a light touch to assist the natural movement of fluid within the craniosacral system. Therapists generally use only five grams of pressure, roughly the weight of a nickel, to test for restrictions in various parts of the craniosacral system. Its often possible for the evaluation alone to remove the restriction and allow the system to correct itself.

Myofascial Release- three-dimensional application of sustained pressure and movement into the fascial system in order to eliminate fascial restrictions and facilitate the emergence of emotional patterns and belief systems that are no longer relevant or are impeding progress. First, an assessment is made by visually analyzing the human frame, followed by the palpation of the tissue texture of various fascial layers. Upon locating an area of fascial tension, gentle pressure is applied in the direction of the restriction. Myofascial release is an effective therapeutic approach in the relief of cervical pain, back pain, fibromyalgia, scoliosis, neurological dysfunction, restriction of motion, chronic pain, and headaches

Raindrop Technique- Originated by D. Gary Young, raindrop technique is a noninvasive tool for helping to correct defects in the curvature of the spine caused by viruses and bacteria that lie dormant there. Antimicrobial essential oils are used to reduce inflammation by killing the viral agents, thus bringing the body into structural and electrical alignment. The oils (primarily thyme, oregano, birch, cypress, peppermint, and basil) are dispensed like little drops of rain from a height of about six inches above the back and massaged along the vertebrae. The oils used in this forty-five-minute treatment continue to work for the next five to seven days

Zyto Scan Young Living Products

The ZYTO technology simply allows you to place your hand on the hand cradle, and the computer runs through a sequence of painless assessments. It creates an electronic “conversation” between the client’s skin (the largest organ) and the Elite computerized software program. The program begins to pinpoint the best approach to bring the body back into balance with foods, supplements, essential oils and/or natural remedies that are most compatible with it.

This cutting-edge technology is also great for children, as our analysis is quick, painless, and can be paused and completed in short intervals.

What Is It Like To Get A Scan?

A simple and painless process. Simply place your hand on the ZYTO hand cradle while a scan is run. During the scan, subtle energetic impulses are introduced to your body through multiple input channels including the hand cradle. Most are unaware that the scan is taking place. Depending on your type of scan, the length can be as little as three minutes or much longer. Each scan costs $20.00.

How does Migun work so effectively to reduce pain and help so many other conditions at the same time?

Migun Therapy Table is an FDA registered class II medical device. It combines deep far-infrared heat, massage therapy, and acupressure while gently flexing and stretching your spine and relaxing your muscles. Our patented jade massage heads are placed in a specific measurement to help stimulate better blood flow and nerve conduction along your spine which helps to stimulate your autonomic nervous system deep within your body. Your autonomic nervous system controls all the functions and things that happen in your body that you don’t think about. Things such as blood pressure, blood glucose regulation, digestion, bladder function, breathing and much more.

Studies conducted at the University of California Irvine and reports from customers show improvement in chronic pain levels, lower blood pressure, and better regulation of blood glucose levels for type 2 diabetes, more energy, improved sleep and less digestive problems.

Migun Therapy will help to improve most types of chronic pain with many users reporting the ability to reduce or eliminate certain medications.

What is Migun Therapy and what does it feel like?

Treatment on the FDA approved Migun therapy table consists of a warm comfortable relaxing fifteen to thirty-minute session that is extremely effective at reducing or eliminating pain. It helps to relax muscles, relieves joint pain and stiffness and increases circulation. Specially designed and patented jade massage heads run up and down your back from the tip of your head to the bottom of your tailbone. At the same time, another set of the massage heads run up and down each leg.

Why is Migun so effective? The secret lies in the unique design of our patented jade stone massage heads which were developed to help stimulate the nerves, muscles, and circulation along the sides of your spine. We also added specially designed massage tracks for the back and legs that gently encourage the spine to move and flex in beneficial ways. Next, we added targeted acupressure treatments and far infra-red deep heat therapy. Consistent Migun therapy has been scientifically proven to improve and provide relief from many chronic conditions.

The combination of 7 different programs, a manual function, a foot massage function, and two manual handheld far infra-red jade massage units allow for many full body treatment options.

For almost 30 years Migun has consistently been recognized for being the best and highest quality product on the market today and has received numerous awards around the world for their innovative designs in far infrared and negative ion technology.
